Objective

Center for Excellence in Teaching (CET) conducts a university-wide orientation program for TAs every semester. The program is comprised mainly of seminars and panel discussions where prospective TAs listen to and learn from faculty members and experienced TAs that have been recognized for their excellence in teaching.

Electrical Engineering TA Training Workshop is designed to supplement CET's TA orientation by providing a full-day, hands-on training workshop for TAs in the Ming Heish Department of Electrical Engineering. Three main objectives of the program are:

  • Providing department-specific information on resources, procedures and policies.
  • Providing TAs an opportunity to meet with, and learn from, experienced TAs in their respective teaching discipline.
  • Providing hands-on microteaching exercises designed to help TA harness their strengths, identify their weaknesses and improve their effectiveness as teachers.
